Padma Green Kanchipuram Saree with Striped Border

Padma is a green Kanchipuram silk saree with fine silver-toned stripes and lotus-like buttas, set off by a maroon border. Thin dotted lines run down the body, with the buttas spaced between them, so the green stays fresh and uncluttered. The broad border carries two bands of floral scrollwork around a centre of fine horizontal stripes, finished with a small temple-style edge, and the pallu is richly worked to match. The soft silk falls in easy, supple folds. With the plain blouse, antique gold jewellery suits it well. Pooja mornings, wedding functions and a housewarming gift all suit it, and it comes from our looms in Bengaluru.
